The potential role of intestinal microbiota in the subtypes of urticaria and depression and anxiety
图片1.png

Recently, Dr. Chen Xiaochun, CDO of AIage, together with Guangxi Key Laboratory of Longevity Science and Technology, Professor Wang Jianyi from Guangxi University Medical College and other experts, published a study titled "Exploring the Association between Urticaria Subtypes, Anxiety, and Depression and the Potential Role of Gut Microbiota" in the international authoritative academic journal Journal of Affective Disorders. The study explored the association between specific urticaria subtypes and depression anxiety through systematic review and genetic variation methods, and revealed the protective and pathogenic roles of gut microbiota in this process.

The achievement of this research result marks a new breakthrough in the innovative exploration of the gut-brain-skin axis in the field of longevity research by AIage. It also fills the gap in the mechanism research between urticaria and mental disorders, providing a new perspective on the complex relationship between urticaria and mental health, and offering new directions and ideas for future research and clinical practice in related fields.

New Findings on the Relationship Between Gut Microbiota and Aging
Aging cell期刊封面.jpg

On April 9, the research team from AIage published a landmark longevity study titled "Causal Analysis Between Gut Microbes, Aging Indicators, and Age-Related Diseases: Discovery and Validation of Biomarkers" in the internationally authoritative journal Aging Cell.

This research employed Mendelian Randomization(MR) and Linkage Disequilibrium Score Regression(LDSC) to systematically investigate associations between gut microbes and: three aging indicators and fourteen age-related diseases. Key findings confirmsignificant causal links between the gut microbiome, aging biomarkers, and risks of age-related diseases. The study demonstrates the potential of genetic correlation analysisand causal inference methodsin identifying biomarkers for age-related diseases. These results provide a scientific foundation for developing targeted interventions to promote healthy aging.

The longevity code of centenarians
explor1.png

On April 6, 2023, a team of scientists led by a team of AIage scientists published the "Longevity of centenarians is reflected by the gut microbiome with youth associated signatures "in the world's prestigious journal Nature Aging, it marked the birth of the world's first real breakthrough in the field of longevity research in China.

The study found that the 100-year-old longevity population has a distinct longevity intestinal flora Structure. Moreover, through the scientific research and analysis of a large number of longevity population cohort data, AIage has made longevity "referable and replicable".

On August 29, 2024, the scientist team from AIage published their research findings on the relationship between potential antibacterial peptides in the gut microbiota of long-lived people, their resistance genes, and age distribution in the internationally renowned academic journal "The Journals of Gerontology, Series A: Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences". Title: Antimicrobial Peptides From the Gut Microbiome of the Centenarians: Diversification of Biosynthesis and Youthful Development of Resistance Genes This paper analyzes gut metagenomic data of healthy individuals across different life stages. It explores the potential evolution of antimicrobial peptides and distribution patterns of resistance genes in the gut microbiome. The study reveals that greater antimicrobial peptide diversity and lower resistance gene levels may contribute to longevity, filling a research gap on antimicrobial peptides in centenarians' gut microbiome.

Super Longevity Human Microbiome Program

In 2018, the Super Longevity Human Microbiome Program was initiated.
On Nov 27, 2020, AIage signed a contract with Nanning City. The collaboration aimed to promote the “Nanning Longevity Science and Technology New Industrial Technology Research Institute” project. The two parties also planned to jointly establish a longevity megadata cloud platform and a longevity microbiota resource bank.
The R&D team visited longevity - renowned towns in Guangxi, Hunan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Xinjiang, Hainan, Shandong and other regions across China to collect longevity samples. They extracted and screened nearly 20,000 intestinal samples from seniors aged 85 and centenarians.

Self-constructed world's largest longevity resource database

As of July 2024, AIage had conducted extensive data collection and in - depth research on more than 200,000 longevity populations and related cohorts. We've compiled the world's largest known human longevity resource database—comprising nearly 160,000 samples—and longevity core strain bank. The latter contains nearly 30,000 functional strains sourced from long - living elderly individuals.
These include lactobacillus and bifidobacteria on the approved list, next - generation probiotics, and Akkella, a new species of the star microbe Akkermansia associated with aging.
